Mongolia’s President Scholar Program Sends 1,052 Students for Global Education

Mongolia’s flagship presidential scholarship program has entered its fifth consecutive year of implementation. Specifically, President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa personally handed scholarship certificates to the latest cohort of recipients. Consequently, this ceremony celebrated a major milestone in the nation’s investment in global education.

The initiative specifically targets top-performing students from every soum and khoroo nationwide. First, it enrolls them in preparatory programs to meet world-class university qualifications. Subsequently, it provides comprehensive financial support during their overseas studies. Upon graduation, scholars must return to lead local development initiatives.

Similarly, Ulemj D. from Ulaanbaatar’s Khan-Uul district expressed overwhelming joy at her selection. A friend called with the news, and she immediately shared it with her mother. Her childhood passion for drawing led her to pursue design-related studies. She urged fellow scholars to contribute to national development upon return.

Azjargal L. from Chingeltei district initially knew nothing about the scholarship program. In fact, she had already chosen a domestic university before receiving her acceptance call. Her father overheard the conversation and celebrated joyfully with the entire family. She plans to study statistics in China and dreams of becoming Mongolia’s first democratically elected female president.

Likewise, Buyantogtokh G. from Dornod aimag will study civil engineering in Japan. This field has been his aspiration since middle school. His parents learned of his selection before he did and were even more excited. He expressed profound gratitude for the opportunity to fulfill his childhood dream.

These personal narratives illustrate the program’s deeper significance. Global education is not merely about academic credentials.
