Global Expansion Strategy Fuels Hybe Growth

Hybe’s global expansion strategy continues to define its vision for the future of K-pop. The company is launching ambitious projects across Asia, North America, and Latin America. This global expansion strategy builds on the foundation set by BTS while creating new opportunities for rising groups.

Cortis marks a key milestone for Hybe’s music division. The boy group will debut with an international push, holding events in Seoul and Los Angeles. Members Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho represent Hybe’s diverse new image. Martin, a Korean Canadian, serves as leader, making him the first foreign passport holder to lead a Hybe group. Big Hit Music stressed that it is unusual for a rookie group to promote across two countries at debut.

The group’s lead single “What You Want” will be part of the upcoming EP “Color Outside the Lines.” Cortis filmed music videos and concept photos in Los Angeles, where the members also trained for three months. Hybe expects Cortis to follow BTS’ global success while setting its own identity.

Katseye further strengthens Hybe’s global expansion strategy. The multinational girl group, created with Geffen Records, overcame doubts after debut. The group’s track “Gabriela” entered the UK Official Singles Chart and remained there for six weeks. Their EP “Beautiful Chaos” reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200, while two tracks entered the Billboard Hot 100. Katseye also ranked fourth among K-pop groups on Spotify with 25.17 million monthly listeners.

Building on Katseye’s success, Hybe and Geffen launched “World Scout: The Final Piece” in Japan. This program will form another multinational girl group through a mix of US-style K-pop training and local auditions. Finalists will join an American training camp before debuting next year.

Hybe is also venturing into Latin America with bold projects. Hybe Latin America introduced Santos Bravos, a reality show featuring 16 contestants from multiple countries. The program combines Hybe’s training with local culture, creating a new boy group for the region. CEO Isaac Lee praised founder Bang Si-hyuk’s vision, describing it as a new path for Latin music.

Through Cortis, Katseye, and Santos Bravos, Hybe is showing how a global expansion strategy can reshape the music landscape. These initiatives highlight the company’s determination to merge culture, innovation, and community worldwide.
