A unique concert will take place in Taipei this September. It features a Baroque trio dedicated to delivering the authentic Baroque sound. The event, titled “Concerto en Trio,” highlights three internationally renowned musicians.
The concert brings together Francois Fernandez, a Baroque violinist from the Paris Conservatory, Korean violinist Yun Kim, and Taiwanese harpsichordist Ryan Hsiu-Tzu. Each musician has made notable contributions to early music. Therefore, their collaboration promises to captivate audiences with a rich Baroque sound.
Ryan Hsiu-Tzu, the Taiwanese harpsichordist, holds a Master’s degree in Harpsichord Performance from the prestigious Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. Over the years, Ryan has performed extensively across Europe, the United States, and Asia. Recently, she was invited by the European early music ensemble La Petite Bande. In July, she performed as a soloist with them in Belgium and recorded Bach’s Harpsichord Concertos.
This recording will debut globally in early 2026. Consequently, Ryan will be one of the few Asian soloists featured with this ensemble. Since founding the Ryan Hsiu-Tzu Music Studio in 2019, she has actively promoted early instruments in Taiwan. Moreover, Ryan focuses on preserving and revitalizing early music.
Her goal is to bring the Baroque sound to new audiences across Asia. The upcoming Taipei performance reunites Ryan with Fernandez and his protégé Yun Kim. After a series of successful shows in 2024, the trio aims to spread the beauty of Baroque music further.
Their collaboration highlights the Baroque sound’s timeless appeal. As a result, they engage both seasoned fans and newcomers alike. The concert will take place on September 12 at the Taipei Biotech Park Multi-Function Hall. Therefore, fans of early music and those curious about Baroque traditions should not miss this exceptional event.
