Bilateral Cooperation Strengthens Mongolia-Czech Relations

Date:

Members of Mongolia’s Standing Committee on Environment, Food, and Agriculture recently met with Deputy Speaker of the Czech Senate, Jitka Seitlová. This meeting highlighted the growing bilateral cooperation between Mongolia and the Czech Republic. The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in environmental protection, food security, and agricultural development.

Member of Parliament Gankhuleg Munguntsog welcomed the Czech delegation warmly. He emphasized the historically friendly ties between the two nations, which have evolved into a comprehensive partnership. Munguntsog noted that the recent State Visit of Mongolia’s President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa to the Czech Republic helped deepen this partnership. The visit expanded cooperation in social and economic sectors, especially in environmental protection and light industry.

Jitka Seitlová, Deputy Speaker of the Czech Senate, expressed her satisfaction with the ongoing partnership. She mentioned that her visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Seitlová also praised the active collaboration between their legislative bodies, parliamentary groups, and secretariat offices.

The Mongolian delegation included Member of Parliament Zoljargal Jargalsaikhan, who highlighted several successful joint projects. These projects have covered a range of critical areas such as forest resource research, forest cover mapping, sustainable water use, and expanding protected areas. Efforts to reintroduce endangered species, including Przewalski’s horses, also featured prominently in the discussions.

Both parties shared views on advancing cooperation in the environment, food, and agriculture sectors. They paid special attention to protecting endangered species like the Mazaalai bear and the wild Bactrian camel. These discussions signal a mutual commitment to conservation and sustainable resource management.

Experts see this meeting as a significant step for both countries. The deepening bilateral cooperation supports Mongolia’s efforts to balance economic growth with environmental sustainability. For the Czech Republic, it offers opportunities to share expertise and expand influence in Asia.

Looking ahead, both sides plan to continue working on projects that promote sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship. They aim to strengthen human resources and technological exchange, particularly in light industry and livestock farming.

The meeting underscores the strategic importance of bilateral cooperation in addressing global environmental challenges. It sets a clear agenda for future collaboration between Mongolia and the Czech Republic, with a strong focus on sustainable development and species conservation.
