Billboard Chart Debut: Chaeyoung Hits Billboard 200

Date:

Chaeyoung of Twice has made a strong Billboard chart debut with her first solo album, gaining international attention. Notably, her LP, Lil Fantasy Vol. 1, entered the Billboard 200 at No. 38 for the week of September 27. This marks the first time the singer has landed on the prestigious album chart as a soloist. As a result, industry watchers see this as a breakthrough moment for her individual music career.

In addition, the album also ranked on multiple Billboard charts. It appeared on the Top Album Sales chart and helped Chaeyoung earn the No. 1 spot on the Emerging Artist list. Significantly, she wrote all ten tracks on the album. This creative control shows her versatility beyond Twice’s group dynamic. Lil Fantasy Vol. 1 also had global success on digital platforms. Specifically, it debuted at No. 1 on iTunes Top Albums in ten regions worldwide.

Meanwhile, the lead track, Shoot (Firecracker), entered the iTunes Top Songs chart in seven countries. That track has received wide acclaim for its bold production and strong vocals. At the same time, Chaeyoung’s solo success comes as Twice continues to perform well on major charts. The group’s collaboration track Takedown, featuring Chaeyoung, Jeongyeon, and Jihyo, climbed to No. 59 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Furthermore, another Twice song, Strategy, moved up to No. 61. Both tracks are part of the soundtrack for the animated feature KPop Demon Hunters. Takedown has now spent 11 weeks on the Hot 100, while Strategy has charted for nine weeks. Together, these milestones highlight the group’s ongoing influence in global pop music.

Accordingly, music analysts note that Chaeyoung’s success reinforces the growing trend of K-pop idols launching solo projects. More artists are pursuing individual recognition without stepping away from their groups. An entertainment consultant based in Seoul said, “Solo albums are no longer side projects. They’re strategic moves in artist development.”

Looking ahead, fans expect Chaeyoung to promote her solo work through music shows and international events. Consequently, many are eager to see if she follows the LP with a tour or deluxe edition. Her Billboard chart debut signals that she’s ready to stand alone while still shining within Twice.
