The BTS museum impact continues to grow as fans flock to the National Museum of Korea. On a recent episode of tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block,” Kim Mi-kyung, head of the museum’s product planning team, shared how BTS member RM helped boost cultural interest.
Kim discussed how RM’s genuine support for Korean history brought unexpected benefits. During the interview, host Yoo Jae-suk mentioned RM’s visit to the museum store. He tried to buy a miniature of the “Pensive Bodhisattva” statue but left without it.
RM wanted a specific color that was out of stock. Kim recalled how sad the team felt after hearing the news. Soon after, they decided to produce more versions of the miniature for offline sale.
Not long later, RM posted a photo of the statue on social media. As soon as the post went live, everything changed. Fans rushed to buy the miniature, and the store saw a surge in sales.
According to Kim, the BTS museum impact went beyond just merchandise. Since RM’s military discharge, fans have continued to visit the museum. One international fan even bought the statue in every color.
Kim noted that BTS fans, known as ARMY, now visit the museum regularly. Many also explore exhibitions RM has posted about online. His influence on cultural interest remains strong and steady.
Yoo Jae-suk also brought up the museum’s recent collaboration with BTS. Kim confirmed that BTS reached out first with a proposal. The result was a special product line blending traditional culture with K-pop.
One featured item is a moon jar that includes lyrics from the BTS song “Mikrokosmos.” The exclusive piece highlights the group’s dedication to Korean heritage.
Kim added that RM still visits museum exhibits on his own. He often shares his visits online, encouraging more people to explore Korean art.
The BTS museum impact has helped modernize interest in traditional culture. The museum hopes this collaboration will inspire a deeper appreciation for history, both locally and globally.
