China reaffirmed its support for a two-state solution in the ongoing Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said. He stressed urgent international action to promote peace and protect the rights of both Palestinians and Israelis. Wang also highlighted that a durable two-state solution is crucial for regional stability and humanitarian relief.
Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made these remarks during talks with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita in Beijing. They discussed current developments in Gaza and the West Bank. The talks highlighted China’s commitment to promoting a peaceful resolution that supports both Israel and Palestine through diplomacy and multilateral cooperation.
The Chinese foreign minister called for a comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza. He said addressing the severe humanitarian crisis is urgent. Wang urged countries with influence over Israel to act responsibly. He also emphasized that the United Nations Security Council and humanitarian agencies must act quickly to support a peaceful resolution between Israel and Palestine.
Wang emphasized that “Palestinians governing Palestine” must be fully implemented. He said Gaza and the West Bank are inalienable Palestinian territories. Any post-conflict reconstruction must respect the will of the Palestinian people and safeguard their legitimate rights, reinforcing the foundation of a two-state solution.
He further highlighted the need for international consensus on the two-state solution. Wang encouraged a unified approach and called for supporting Palestine’s full UN membership. He also urged rejecting unilateral actions that could undermine the two-state solution and hinder long-term peace.
Wang noted that the conflict has persisted for two years, causing unprecedented humanitarian suffering. He expressed China’s deep concern and regret. Wang criticized Israel’s moves to expand control over Gaza City and accelerate encroachment in the West Bank. He said these actions violate international law and threaten regional stability, obstructing progress toward a two-state solution.
Wang stressed that security must be shared. No country can ensure its safety at the expense of others. He reaffirmed that both Israel and Palestine have equal rights to establish a state. All lives in the region deserve protection. Wang warned that violence only breeds further hatred, making the two-state solution even more urgent.
China remains committed to supporting the Palestinian people in restoring their legitimate rights. Wang emphasized promoting a ceasefire in Gaza. He also highlighted the need for a comprehensive, just, and lasting resolution in line with the two-state solution and relevant UN resolutions.
Analysts said China’s position strengthens multilateral dialogue. They noted it underscores the importance of shared security and cooperation. Observers also emphasized that the two-state solution is essential for long-term peace and regional stability.
