China called on the United Nations to protect the post-war order, warning that historical revisionism threatens global peace and stability. Speaking Monday at a UN Security Council open debate, China’s permanent representative Fu Cong urged countries to uphold multilateral cooperation and negotiated conflict resolution.
During the debate on leadership for peace, Fu emphasized that militarism and fascism once caused immense human suffering worldwide. Therefore, he warned that attempts to distort or erase historical aggression undermine collective conscience and weaken foundations of peace.
Moreover, Fu stressed that preserving the post-war order requires defending the outcomes of World War II. He argued that these outcomes shaped today’s international system and provided essential safeguards against future conflict escalation.
