In response, the government declared a state of national disaster when reservoir levels dropped below 20 percent and raised the emergency response level to 2, mobilizing nationwide administrative resources.

Since 2022, the firm has supported disaster relief efforts nationwide, providing 18.5 billion won for flood and wildfire recovery. Shinsegae Group donated 270,000 bottles of water, while Coupang and Woori Financial Group each contributed 20,000 bottles via the Korean Red Cross. The Industrial Bank of Korea added 100 million won in cash donations to support ongoing relief operations.
City officials said these efforts significantly alleviate immediate water shortages and strengthen community resilience.
