Hanjin Global Vision is redefining the group’s strategy as it approaches its centennial in 2045, signaling ambitious growth across aviation, logistics, and mobility sectors.
At its 80th anniversary on Thursday, Hanjin Group unveiled “Group Vision 2045.” The plan aims to evolve Korean Air and Hanjin Logistics into a next-generation mobility provider. Emily Cho, president and CMO of Hanjin Logistics, highlighted the synergy between aviation and logistics. She said this integration will create new opportunities for global expansion.
Cho added, “Under the vision of ‘Be the world’s most loved airline,’ Korean Air will expand beyond aviation. It will explore space, future mobility, and e-commerce.” Furthermore, Hanjin plans to leverage its defense technologies to enter aerospace, including uncrewed aircraft, space launch vehicles, and specialized transport.
For logistics, the group introduced “Global Smart Logistics Solutions.” It features Hyper-Autonomous Logi-Tech, an AI-powered system for fully autonomous operations. Cho explained that this system will enable seamless global supply chains and optimize Arctic route commercialization.
Digital transformation underpins Hanjin Global Vision. The company plans to integrate aviation and logistics through a single smart portal. As a result, the group expects to enhance tourism, hospitality, and real estate services. This approach will add value across all operations.
To symbolize the new vision, Hanjin unveiled a logo combining the H mark, the Hanjin wordmark, and Korean Air’s Taegeuk emblem. Ryu Kyeong-pyo, vice chair of Hanjin KAL, said the group aims to double revenue under Global Vision 2045. He added that Korean Air has invested in overseas airlines while Hanjin expands into new markets.
Last year, Hanjin Group posted 31 trillion won ($21.5 billion) in revenue and 2.5 trillion won in operating profit. The group now operates 42 affiliates worldwide, employing more than 40,000 people.
Industry analysts note that Hanjin Global Vision positions the company to capitalize on emerging mobility trends, advanced aerospace technologies, and AI-driven logistics. Overall, the plan shows the group’s commitment to long-term innovation, global competitiveness, and integrated mobility services.
Hanjin Global Vision also reflects South Korea’s broader ambition to become a global hub for aviation, logistics, and technology by mid-century.
