ITZY Contract Renewal Confirmed With JYP Entertainment

Date:

JYP Entertainment confirmed the ITZY contract renewal, securing the group’s future with the agency. Notably, all five members—Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna—renewed their exclusive contracts ahead of schedule. In a statement released on Saturday, JYP Entertainment announced the decision. The company emphasized that the early renewal reflects deep mutual trust and shared goals. Originally, the contracts were set to expire in early 2026.

Moreover, the agency pledged to fully support the group as it aims to strengthen ITZY’s global position. This includes expanding international activities and offering new creative opportunities tailored to each member’s strengths. Furthermore, the group shared the news with fans during their fourth official fan meeting in Seoul on Friday. Each member expressed gratitude to their fandom, Midzy, and promised to continue growing and staying united.

ITZY debuted in February 2019 under JYP Entertainment and quickly became a standout in the K-pop industry. Known for strong choreography and stage presence, the group earned multiple rookie awards within their first year. In addition, their fourth EP, “Guess Who,” charted on the US Billboard 200 in 2021, marking their international breakthrough. They continued this momentum in 2022 when their fifth EP, “Checkmate,” reached No. 8 on the same chart.

Most recently, the group completed their second global tour, “Born to Be,” in 2024. ITZY performed 32 shows across 28 cities, solidifying their reputation as a dynamic live act. During a June press conference, Chaeryeong hinted that they were progressing well in contract renewal talks. Consequently, that statement sparked early speculation about the renewal.

JYP Entertainment stated it would focus on showcasing each member’s potential through solo and group projects. This approach aligns with industry trends favoring individual promotions within idol groups. Next, ITZY will head to Japan for three fan meetings scheduled from October 11 to 13 in Tokyo. These events form part of a broader effort to strengthen their presence in the Japanese market.

Overall, the ITZY contract renewal reassures the group’s stability and future prospects amid frequent lineup changes in K-pop. Fans and industry watchers see this as a sign of long-term strategy from both the group and agency. With global momentum, strong fan support, and JYP’s backing, ITZY is poised to remain a top act in K-pop for years to come.
