Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia, Igawahara Masaru, visited Uvs aimag, highlighting Japan grant assistance to the region. During the working visit, the ambassador met with local authorities and signed an agreement under Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP). Consequently, the initiative aims to improve school infrastructure and enhance students’ learning conditions.
Through this Japan grant assistance, the General Education School in Tsagaankhairkhan soum will undergo significant renovations. Specifically, the dormitory and kitchen buildings will be modernized to ensure safe and healthy living conditions for students. The project includes major repairs to the old kitchen building and refurbishments of the dormitory’s kitchen and dining hall. As a result, these improvements will positively impact the daily life and study environment of dormitory students.
Moreover, Ambassador Igawahara toured several public and private organizations across Uvs aimag. These visits allowed him to better understand local operations and community needs. In addition, local leaders expressed appreciation for Japan’s continued support and recognized the tangible benefits of Japan grant assistance in improving essential infrastructure.
Furthermore, Japan’s support aligns with Mongolia’s broader development goals and the government’s focus on grassroots projects. Similarly, previous initiatives have helped schools and communities nationwide, promoting human security and educational growth.
