Jennie, a standout member of K-pop sensation BLACKPINK, made a powerful solo debut at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Sunday. Her return marked a new chapter, with Jennie at Coachella now meaning more than just group performances.
Wearing a stylish Western hat and sleek sunglasses, Jennie opened with the track “Filter.” The crowd immediately responded with energy, cheering loudly as she claimed the Outdoor Theatre stage with bold confidence.
This appearance marked Jennie’s first solo set at Coachella, one of the biggest music festivals in the United States. Her performance followed BLACKPINK’s historic appearances in 2019 and 2023, when the group became the first K-pop girl group to perform and later headline the event.
During her solo set, Jennie at Coachella took on a distinct vibe. She switched effortlessly between fierce dance moves and sultry vocals. Her stage presence captivated fans throughout her dynamic performance.
Jennie performed several solo tracks, including her prerelease single “Mantra.” She followed it up with “Handlebars,” “ZEN,” “F.T.S,” and “like JENNIE.” Each song drew cheers and chants from the audience, creating an electric atmosphere.
Speaking to fans between songs, Jennie shared her excitement. “It feels like a dream to be back in this desert performing at the Outdoor Theatre,” she said. “I hope we can all have fun together tonight.”
She also thanked fans for their support. “I didn’t expect this many people to show up,” she said with a smile. “Thank you for coming to my Coachella stage.”
Jennie’s solo performance comes shortly after BLACKPINK’s Lisa performed at the festival on April 11. Jennie is scheduled for another performance next Sunday, continuing the journey of Jennie at Coachella with even more excitement to come.
