Kochia Autumn Peak Hits Hitachi Park

Date:

Kochia autumn peak has arrived at Hitachi Seaside Park in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki Prefecture, drawing large crowds. Visitors are flocking to see the park’s 2.3-hectare Miharashi Hill, now covered with roughly 40,000 bright red kochia bushes.

Park officials said the leaves began changing color around October 5. The peak foliage will last until Saturday. Cosmos flowers bloom at the hill’s foot, letting visitors enjoy multiple autumn plants at once.

Visitors praised the vivid scenery. A 31-year-old public servant from Tochigi City said, “It was more beautiful than I expected and gave us a memorable experience.” Families and photography fans are capturing the colors, making the kochia autumn peak a major seasonal attraction.

The park charges 800 yen for adult admission until Sunday. Junior high students and younger can enter for free. Officials expect strong attendance over the weekend.

Kochia autumn peak boosts the local economy. Restaurants and souvenir shops report increased foot traffic. Park staff manage visitors to protect Miharashi Hill while letting people enjoy the views.

Organizers recommend arriving early to avoid crowds and to enjoy the hill’s panoramic vistas. They also suggest walking the paths lined with cosmos flowers for a full autumn experience.

The event highlights Japan’s seasonal tourism. Autumn foliage spots like Hitachi Seaside Park attract domestic and international visitors. Officials plan to track attendance and collect feedback to improve future events.

With the kochia autumn peak drawing crowds and admiration, Hitachi Seaside Park remains a top destination during Japan’s autumn season.
