LUN8 debuted in 2023 as an eight-member group under entertainment company Fantagio. However, the early days involved turbulence. In January, Dohyun and Ji Eunho stepped away temporarily due to health issues. Shortly after, Eunseop formally left the group. Rather than dissolve, the group added new member Yuma, a Japanese artist who competed in a televised audition show. This change converted LUN8 into a six-member group. On September 17, at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul’s Gwangjin District, LUN8 held a media showcase to launch LOST, a three-track album that reflects their belief in growth through adversity.
The title track Lost blends pop-dance sensibilities with dark, dreamy atmospherics and a whistle motif. Stephen Puth contributed to the track’s writing and production. The album also includes Bad Girl, featuring hip-hop drums and guitar riffs, and Nauty with moombahton grooves.
LUN8 says the fewer members enabled sharper focus on performance and cohesion. Leader Jinsu remarked that reductions in size pushed them to improve skills more intensely. This marks LUN8’s first project in seven months since their previous release. The group also recently concluded a five-city European tour and released its first Japanese full-length album Elevation.
Fantagio describes LOST as symbolizing LUN8’s resolve to “shine brighter through change.” Members voice similar views. Yuma says he prepared long for this stage and aims to grow with every step. Junwoo notes daily communication helped build the new lineup’s chemistry.
