Seventeen has entered a new chapter with a military service update. Woozi officially began his military enlistment this week. On Monday, Pledis Entertainment confirmed that Woozi entered a basic training camp to start his mandatory service. As planned, he will serve in the Army as an active-duty soldier. Just one day later, fellow member Hoshi is set to join him. Hoshi will also fulfill his duty through active Army service.
Over the weekend, fans spotted both Woozi and Hoshi in the audience at Seventeen’s concert in Incheon. Their shaved hairstyles clearly signaled their enlistment. The concert marked the opening of the group’s new world tour, titled “New_.” Notably, Junghan and Wonwoo were also seen cheering for their bandmates. Junghan enlisted in September last year, while Wonwoo began his service in April this year. The four absent members, however, didn’t stop the remaining nine from delivering an energetic performance.
Before enlisting, Hoshi and Woozi released a special project. In March, the duo dropped a three-track single called “Beam.” This subunit effort showcased their synergy and gained attention across Asia. Following the release, they held live performances in Seoul, Busan, and Daegu. They also visited fans in Taipei and Yokohama during July and August. These events allowed them to say goodbye to fans before their military commitments.
Despite these changes, Seventeen continues to move forward. The group will travel to Hong Kong for the next leg of their world tour. They will perform at the city’s largest concert venue on September 27 and 28. This military service update highlights Seventeen’s evolving lineup. Yet, their strong bond and performance schedule remain intact. Fans can still expect energetic shows and group unity throughout the tour. As more members begin enlistment, Seventeen adapts. But the group shows no signs of slowing down. They continue engaging fans worldwide with powerful live experiences and new music.
