Mongolia and Italy Boost Emergency Readiness Cooperation

Mongolia and Italy have deepened their emergency readiness cooperation through a recent high-level meeting on disaster management.As part of this effort, Deputy Prime Minister Amarsaikhan Sainbuyan welcomed key Italian officials to Ulaanbaatar. He emphasized the urgent need to improve both infrastructure and emergency systems due to worsening climate-related hazards.

Meanwhile, the Italian delegation included Ambassador Giovanna Piccarreta, expert Agostino Goretti, and director Roberto Rudari. Together, they shared Italy’s experience in disaster risk reduction and practical emergency response methods. In addition, they expressed strong interest in supporting Mongolia’s efforts to modernize its emergency systems.

Both sides agreed to launch joint training programs for Mongolian emergency personnel in disaster-prone areas. Specifically, these programs will focus on responses to droughts, dzuds, floods, wildfires, and earthquakes. Moreover, Italy offered technical support to develop early warning systems and build climate-resilient infrastructure.

Consequently, Deputy Prime Minister Amarsaikhan expressed gratitude for Italy’s ongoing support in the region. Notably, Mongolia is now part of a regional project that strengthens national disaster response capacity. This project spans several Asian nations and encourages long-term solutions for natural disaster challenges.

Furthermore, Ambassador Piccarreta praised Mongolia’s progress toward global emergency management standards. She also confirmed Italy’s commitment to deepening emergency readiness cooperation with Mongolia through future joint efforts. Importantly, both countries acknowledged that international cooperation is essential in facing today’s climate-related risks.

This meeting also marked the 55th anniversary of Mongolia–Italy diplomatic relations. As a result, leaders celebrated their long-standing partnership and shared vision for climate resilience. They highlighted the growing importance of joint planning in disaster preparedness and response.

Through continuous emergency readiness cooperation, both nations aim to protect lives and strengthen public safety. They plan to share knowledge, invest in training, and support each other in future emergencies. Ultimately, their renewed cooperation shows how countries can work together to manage disaster risks.

In conclusion, Mongolia and Italy remain committed to global solutions through strong emergency readiness cooperation. Their joint efforts will help build safer, more resilient communities in the face of climate challenges.
