Mongolia and Türkiye Health Partnership Strengthens Cooperation

Date:

Mongolia and Türkiye have significantly strengthened their health partnership. The Minister of Health of Türkiye, Kemal Memişoğlu, visited Mongolia and emphasized that both nations have entered a new era of long-term collaboration. He added that this partnership goes beyond health, fostering friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples.

Mongolian Health Minister Chinburen Jigjidsuren described the visit as a pivotal step. He noted that it reflects the evolving priorities in both countries’ health sectors. Moreover, the timing coincides with the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Türkiye. Earlier this year, President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa of Mongolia paid a state visit to Turkey. During that visit, the governments renewed their agreement in health and medical sciences, demonstrating a shared commitment to cooperation.

The original agreement, first signed in 2004, has played a key role in advancing Mongolia’s health sector. Now, the renewed agreement, effective from June 2025, establishes a stronger framework for collaboration. It emphasizes public health, medical care, health system strengthening, and medical research. The agreement also provides mechanisms to improve efficiency in healthcare delivery.

As part of the Mongolia and Türkiye health partnership, both countries now expand collaboration in multiple areas. These include improving medical management, supplying essential medicines and equipment, and updating sectoral legislation. Additionally, they aim to strengthen emergency and disaster response in healthcare. By coordinating efforts, the two nations can respond more effectively to medical crises and natural disasters.

The agreement also encourages human resource development and professional exchange. Visiting professor programs allow experts to share knowledge and train healthcare personnel. Furthermore, both countries plan to adopt advanced medical technologies to improve patient care. They will also enhance health information systems, enabling better decision-making and data management.

In conclusion, the Mongolia and Türkiye health partnership is set to bring lasting benefits to both nations. By improving medical services, expanding emergency preparedness, and fostering professional collaboration, the partnership strengthens bilateral ties. Officials from both countries remain committed to this long-term vision of cooperation. With continued effort, the Mongolia and Türkiye health partnership will shape the future of healthcare in both nations.
