Tree Care Campaign Launches Nationwide in Mongolia

Date:

The Tree care campaign in Mongolia has officially begun, marking a nationwide effort to protect young trees during autumn. Moreover, the Office of the President, in partnership with the Ecological Police Department and various organizations, launched the initiative under the theme “Golden Autumn – Let’s Care for the Trees We Have Planted.” This campaign highlights Mongolia’s growing commitment to forest restoration and ecological preservation.

In addition, the initiative is part of the larger “Billions of Trees” National Movement. Authorities introduced this movement to combat desertification, restore degraded forests, and expand green spaces. This year, the Tree care campaign shifts its focus from planting to maintenance. Organizers aim to engage citizens in protecting trees and preparing them for the winter season.

Since the launch of the “Billions of Trees” movement, Mongolia has planted approximately 114.6 million trees. Furthermore, officials confirmed that reserves of seedlings and saplings remain sufficient to support future campaigns. The new phase prioritizes maintenance to ensure previously planted trees survive harsh winters and contribute to long-term environmental goals.

At the same time, government agencies, NGOs, private companies, and individuals are working together to support the Tree care campaign. Public participation remains central to the effort. Organizers are encouraging communities to water trees, add protective materials, and monitor growth conditions. These activities aim to boost survival rates and create sustainable green zones across the country.

The President of Mongolia initiated the “Billions of Trees” movement to raise awareness about climate change, water protection, and ecological balance. Each year, campaigns adopt new themes to inspire action. Previous campaigns focused on selecting the right trees, restoring nature, and planting in urban spaces. Consequently, this evolving approach helps maintain public interest and encourages long-term environmental responsibility.

Officials highlighted that caring for existing trees is as crucial as planting new ones. By focusing on tree maintenance, the campaign aims to ensure lasting ecological impact. Environmental experts emphasized that survival rates often determine the success of national greening programs.

Looking ahead, Mongolia plans to continue integrating community engagement with policy measures. Authorities will provide training, resources, and guidance to support local efforts. These steps aim to secure the country’s green future while reinforcing public responsibility.

Ultimately, the Tree care campaign demonstrates Mongolia’s proactive approach to environmental restoration. Through collaboration and consistent action, the country aims to strengthen ecosystems, combat desertification, and enhance urban green spaces for future generations.
