Mongolia Harvest Progress Fully Reviewed by Prime Minister

Date:

Prime Minister Zandanshatar Gombojav visited Orkhon and Selenge aimags to assess Mongolia harvest progress. He met farmers. He checked crop yields. Moreover, he visited a leading grain producer known for high yields. The farm reported 35 to 45 centners per hectare this year.

In addition, the company built a fully automated grain processing facility using concessional loans. The facility cleans, dries, and stores grain. It has a 3,500-ton capacity. Furthermore, the farm introduced and localized new wheat varieties. These include Buryatskaya-Ostistaya, Gonets, Altaiskaya-70, and Baikalskaya. The improved varieties resist pests and diseases.

In Orkhon aimag, 13 agricultural enterprises and 272 households cultivate crops on 5,156 hectares. Preliminary estimates show the region will produce 8,958 tons of wheat, 1,457 tons of potatoes, and 5,760 tons of vegetables. It will also yield 1,076 tons of livestock feed. The region will produce 1,393 tons of oil crops. These amounts meet wheat demand. They cover half of potato needs. They supply 80 percent of vegetables. Additionally, farmers plan to expand vegetable production next season.

Thanks to favorable weather, crop growth improved with more rainfall than the long-term average. However, farmers requested a state-funded cold storage facility with a 1,000-ton capacity. They also asked for 200,000 more hectares with legal ownership rights. As a result, authorities plan to expand cultivated land efficiently.

Prime Minister Zandanshatar instructed aimag authorities to support modern agricultural investments. He explained that more land improves efficiency and strengthens food security. Furthermore, the government will help farmers adopt modern technologies. Officials will also organize training programs for young farmers.

As a result, Mongolia harvest progress remains a national priority. Authorities focus on sustainable growth. They improve infrastructure. They support farmers. By combining modern facilities with careful planning, the country ensures long-term food security. Therefore, Mongolia harvest progress continues to advance with government backing, favorable weather, and local engagement.

In conclusion, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to supporting farmers. This visit highlights agriculture’s critical importance for Mongolia’s future.
