Growing Partnership Mongolia Honors Italian Contributors

Date:

Growing partnership between Mongolia and Italy remained the main theme of President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa’s state visit to Italy. During the visit, the president honored several individuals who strengthened cooperation in diplomacy, culture, education, and public engagement. The awards also marked the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations, adding symbolic weight to the moment.

President Khurelsukh congratulated each recipient and thanked them for their work in building a growing partnership grounded in mutual respect. His remarks highlighted the value of long-term cooperation and signaled continued momentum in bilateral ties.

Aldo Colleoni, former Honorary Consul of Mongolia in Trieste, received the Order of the Red Banner of Labour. Officials noted his early role in building trust and establishing institutional channels when cooperation was still limited.

Several recipients received the Friendship Medal. Nicola Carè, a member of Italy’s Chamber of Deputies, earned recognition for strengthening parliamentary cooperation. Paolo Bonetti, Honorary Consul in Milan, also received the medal for expanding community links and supporting Mongolian residents in Italy.

Senior Italian foreign ministry officials Alessandra Schiavo and Alessandro De Pedys were honored for advancing cultural diplomacy and policy dialogue. Art conservator Cinzia Pasquali received recognition for work that supported cultural preservation and heritage protection.

The government also presented the Order of the Polar Star to Nyamaa Lkhagvajav and Gantuya Tsevegdorj. Both contributed to civil society cooperation and long-term academic and cultural engagement. Their work showed how civic institutions support a growing partnership that extends beyond official channels.

Officials from both sides expressed optimism about the future. They emphasized cooperation in trade, cultural programs, education, and technology. Analysts believe the awards signal deeper alignment and may accelerate pending agreements.

As the visit continues, both governments aim to convert goodwill into practical outcomes. Public statements from both delegations describe this moment as a turning point and an opportunity to expand a growing partnership that is gaining visibility and strategic relevance.
