Justice Minister Appointment Confirmed in Mongolia

Mongolia’s Prime Minister Zandanshatar Gombojav has formally presented a justice minister appointment to the State Great Khural. Member of Parliament Enkhbayar Battumur will serve as Minister of Justice and Home Affairs, succeeding Munkhbaatar Lhagva. This minister appointment highlights a strategic move to strengthen legal governance and public trust.

The Prime Minister also officially informed the President of Mongolia. He emphasized that MP Enkhbayar brings 27 years of experience in public service. Enkhbayar previously served as Deputy Minister of Justice and Home Affairs from 2016 to 2018, and again as Minister from 2023 to 2024.

Prime Minister Zandanshatar described Enkhbayar as a highly qualified legal professional and a courageous politician. He expressed confidence that the justice minister appointment would allow the government to implement its action plan effectively.

According to Article 39, Section 4 of Mongolia’s Constitution, the Prime Minister can appoint, dismiss, or accept resignations of government members after presenting decisions to the State Great Khural and the President. Enkhbayar’s appointment will take effect once he takes an oath before the State Great Khural.
