Mongolia is strengthening regional partnerships through the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP). Recently, State Secretary Munkhtushig Lhanaajav met Deputy Executive Secretary Hirohito Toda to discuss Mongolia regional cooperation and regional development initiatives.
During the meeting, Munkhtushig emphasized the regional cooperation by highlighting the country’s readiness to share experience in transit transport and digital infrastructure. Furthermore, he stressed Mongolia’s commitment to advancing shared development goals through active engagement with UN ESCAP.
In response, Toda commended Mongolia’s proactive initiatives. Additionally, he expressed full UN ESCAP support for Mongolia in hosting the 17th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification in Ulaanbaatar in 2026.
