Furthermore, the Chairperson noted that a delegation from Mongolia, led by S. Erdenebat, a Member of Parliament and Head of the Mongolia-Uzbekistan Parliamentary Group, attended the regular elections of the Oliy Majlis in October 2024. Deputy Speaker Bulgantuya Khurelbaatar thanked the Uzbek hosts for their warm hospitality. Khurelbaatar noted that Mongolia had recently undergone significant constitutional reforms. Following these changes, Mongolia’s Parliament now includes 126 members, 32 of whom are women. This reform was a testament to Mongolia’s evolving political landscape, she said.
She also congratulated Uzbekistan for successfully hosting the 150th Assembly of the IPU in Tashkent, becoming the first Central Asian country to do so. The Deputy Speaker recognized the Assembly’s role in facilitating productive discussions. These discussions strengthened the position of parliaments in international cooperation and emphasized the importance of mutual exchanges of experience.
