Recently, Ulaangom city proudly unveiled a monument honoring the Late People’s Artist Gombo. Secretary General Baasandorj Barsuren of the State Great Khural led the ceremony. In addition, members of Parliament and government officials working in Uvs aimag joined the event. Born in 1939 in Sangarag, Undurkhangai soum, Uvs aimag, the Late People’s Artist Gombo devoted more than 40 years to Mongolian folk music. Starting in 1956, he worked continuously at the State Ensemble of Folk Song and Dance. During his career, he mastered over 400 traditional songs. Moreover, he performed more than 200 of these songs on stage, sharing his voice and passion with countless audiences across the country.
