Tech Leaders Meet Over Fried Chicken In Seoul

Date:

In a rare show of unity, three global executives shared fried chicken and beer in Seoul. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, and Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Chung Euisun gathered for a friendly evening. Their meeting, known as the “chimaek summit,” highlighted how tech leaders meet to discuss innovation and build trust.

The trio met Thursday night at Kanbu Chicken near Samseong Station in Gangnam. The restaurant’s name means “close friend,” fitting the event’s casual tone. Moreover, industry sources said Nvidia chose the location to emphasize collaboration and camaraderie. Soon, large crowds gathered outside, eager to glimpse the powerful guests.

Jensen Huang, wearing his trademark black leather jacket, arrived early and greeted fans with smiles. Furthermore, he took selfies and waved before entering the restaurant. The sight of global CEOs eating fried chicken drew both excitement and amusement from onlookers.

During the dinner, Huang spoke briefly about Nvidia’s plans in Korea. Additionally, he mentioned his upcoming visit to the APEC summit in Gyeongju and expressed excitement about deeper cooperation. “Korea and Nvidia have many announcements to make,” he said, referencing new developments in high-bandwidth memory technology.

The table featured crispy chicken and garlic-soy wings, paired with cold beer. Meanwhile, the three executives made toasts and exchanged laughter. Huang gifted Nvidia’s DGX AI system and a bottle of Suntory Hakushu 25-year whisky to his hosts. The label read, “For our partnership and the future of the world.”

After the meal, Huang stepped outside and handed small gifts to fans. At the same time, Lee and Chung stayed behind, chatting with guests and signing autographs. The friendly gestures showed how tech leaders meet not only for business but also to connect personally.

Before leaving, Lee joked about recent trade resolutions. “I’m realizing happiness comes from small things, like good food,” he said. His comment summed up the relaxed mood of the evening.

Industry watchers say the “chimaek summit” signals closer collaboration among Nvidia, Samsung, and Hyundai. Therefore, the companies may expand cooperation in AI, memory chips, and autonomous vehicles. As tech leaders meet again at global events, experts expect their partnerships to shape the future of innovation.
