Official Visit to Mongolia: Lao Foreign Minister Boosts Cooperation

The Foreign Minister of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Thongsavanh Phomvihane, is set to make an official visit to Mongolia from August 19 to 23, 2025. Mongolia’s Foreign Minister, Battsetseg Batmunkh, invited him to further develop the friendly relations between the two nations.

During this official visit to Mongolia, Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane will meet several key Mongolian leaders. He will pay courtesy calls on Mongolia’s Heads of State and Government. Furthermore, he will hold official talks with Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh. These discussions aim to deepen cooperation and enhance mutual understanding between Laos and Mongolia.

Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane will also participate in the 10th Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Forum for East Asia–Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC). The event will take place in Ulaanbaatar from August 20 to 22, 2025. The meeting will bring together foreign ministers from both regions to discuss shared challenges and explore new opportunities for regional cooperation.

Throughout the official visit to Mongolia, both countries will discuss various important issues. They will focus on expanding bilateral trade and strengthening economic ties. Key sectors include agriculture, transport, and logistics. Additionally, they plan to increase collaboration in education, culture, and humanitarian fields. These efforts will help build a solid foundation for future cooperation.
