Park Kyu-hee Leads Berabo Soundtrack

Park Kyu-hee will take the lead in performing “Berabo Journey,” featured at the conclusion of NHK’s Taiga drama “Berabou.” Starting from the 34th episode, which aired on September 7, 2025, Park Kyu-hee replaces the previous performers. The drama, titled “Berabou ~ Tsuta Shige Eikano Yume no Tales,” began broadcasting in January 2025. Fans can also look forward to the release of the original soundtrack Vol. 3, which includes “Berabo Journey III,” scheduled for October 29.

Park Kyu-hee is a world-renowned classical guitarist with roots in both Japan and Korea. He has won multiple international competitions and maintains a reputation for technical precision and expressive performances. This year marks the 15th anniversary of his debut. To celebrate, he will embark on a nationwide tour beginning in October, culminating with a final performance at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan on December 14.

Park began playing guitar at the age of three in Yokohama and studied under prominent instructors including Shomura Kiyoshi, Fukuda Shinichi, and A Pielli. After graduating from Tokyo University of Music, he completed his studies at Vienna National University of Music in 2014, finishing at the top of his class. He further advanced his training at the Alicante Classical Guitar Master Course in 2016, again earning the top position.

Throughout his career, Park Kyu-hee has won numerous prestigious awards. He earned first place and the Audience Award at the 2007 Heinzberg International Guitar Competition. He also achieved top honors at competitions in Belgium, Liechtenstein, and Spain, among others. His performances have earned critical acclaim and brought him international recognition.

Park has collaborated with major orchestras, including the NHK Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and Yonako Symphony Orchestra. His albums, including “Suenho: Dream,” “The Journey in Spain,” and “Le Depart,” have won several awards, including the 14th CD Shop Awards 2022 Classic Award. Additionally, he has performed at renowned guitar festivals across Europe, the United States, Korea, and Taiwan.

In summary, Park Kyu-hee continues to influence classical guitar both domestically and internationally. His leadership on the “Berabo Journey” soundtrack and upcoming tour highlights his skill, artistry, and enduring impact on music.
