President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa visited Nalaikh District today and met with local residents. Specifically, he presented updates on the implementation of his initiated programs and initiatives. He also discussed the country’s current socio-economic conditions with the citizens. Nalaikh District historically serves as the cradle of Mongolia’s mining sector. Workers from Nalaikh have made significant contributions to national development and prosperity. Moreover, more than ten students from the district are currently studying abroad. They attend leading universities around the world under the President’s Scholar-2100 Program.
Moreover, Khurelsukh expressed appreciation for meeting the hardworking citizens of the district. He noted that the community recognition visit allows him to hear directly from local residents. The President presented a portrait of Great Chinggis Khaan to the district during the gathering. He then awarded state honors and medals to distinguished citizens who achieved outstanding success. Gelegjamts S., former head of the Education Department of the Nalaikh District Governor Office, received special recognition. He is also an associate professor with a doctorate in engineering. Consequently, the President awarded him the title of Honored Teacher for his lifelong service.
Several other district residents received prestigious awards by presidential decree. For instance, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor went to multiple honorees. The Order of the Polar Star also recognized distinguished community members. Additionally, the Medal of Honor for Labor acknowledged hardworking citizens. The Office of the President of Mongolia announced these official honors. Recipients included workers from the mining sector, educators, and local administrators. Each honoree has demonstrated exceptional dedication to their profession and community.
Nalaikh District holds a special place in Mongolia’s modern history. The area supplied coal to Ulaanbaatar for decades. Many families have lived and worked in the district for generations.
