The United Nations has appointed Mongolian national Sarangoo Radnaaragchaa as its new Resident Coordinator in Kazakhstan. This important role will officially begin on June 22, 2025. Her appointment reflects a strong commitment to sustainable development and international cooperation in the region. Sarangoo Radnaaragchaa appointed UN Resident Coordinator brings over 25 years of experience working on environmental and development issues. Throughout her career, she has made significant contributions across Europe and Central Asia.

Prior to this role, she served as Regional Advisor on Environment at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). There, she provided technical guidance to 17 countries, supporting the implementation of UNECE’s conventions, norms, and standards. Before joining UNECE, Sarangoo worked as a senior specialist at Mongolia’s Ministry of Environment. In this capacity, she gained valuable expertise in natural resource management and environmental policies. Additionally, she collaborated with numerous international organizations.

These include the United Nations Development Programme, Food and Agriculture Organization, United Nations Environment Programme, International Union for Conservation of Nature, and the German Agency for International Cooperation. Such partnerships strengthened her ability to address complex environmental challenges. Her vast experience enables her to design and implement sustainable development initiatives tailored to the needs of diverse countries. Sarangoo Radnaaragchaa appointed UN Resident Coordinator will now focus on fostering collaboration between the UN, local governments, and civil society in Kazakhstan.
