SevenToEight Debuts in Korea with Global Dreams and Dual Singles

Date:

SevenToEight officially made its long-awaited K-pop debut on Monday in Seoul. The Taiwan-based boy group introduced two contrasting singles and set bold goals for global success.

The six-member group includes Chiwon, D’om, M, Jagger, Kyojun, and Exxi. All were chosen through the 2024 audition show “Scool: Idol Dream Space,” a collaboration between Taiwan’s Ten Entertainment and South Korea’s SBS. Their debut showcase was held at the Showking K-pop Center in Mapo-gu.

D’om expressed disbelief and gratitude, calling a Korean debut his lifelong dream. Kyojun explained that the name SevenToEight combines 7 for luck and 8 for infinity, symbolizing limitless potential with fans.

Before their official debut, SevenToEight held a fan meeting in Taiwan back in April. That early event revealed a strong and growing fanbase. The group intends to connect with even more fans through dual promotions in Korea and Taiwan.

Their debut single album “SevenToEight” features two lead tracks. “PDSR (Please Don’t Stop the Rain)” delivers a soft, summery vibe. Leader Chiwon described the track as a wish for endless summer rain, inspired by a girl who loves rainy days.

In contrast, “Drip & Drop” brings out their bold charisma with a deep-house rhythm. M said the track captures the excitement of falling for someone. He added that its fast tempo and “iron taste” sound reveal the group’s more masculine charm.

Although Korean member Jinwoo left before debut, the group continues to support his journey. M expressed hope they’ll meet again on a bigger stage. Now fully non-Korean, the members still committed to promoting actively in Korea.

At the showcase, SevenToEight impressed with fluent Korean during interviews and strong pronunciation while performing. Chiwon explained that learning Korean was difficult but necessary for success. Exxi shared their plan to appear on Korean music shows and launch promotions in Taiwan soon.

SevenToEight members named BTS’s Jimin and V, along with G-Dragon, as role models. They spoke of dreams to share energy with fans worldwide and perform on even bigger stages.

In summary, SevenToEight has made a powerful first step with a unique identity and cross-border appeal. With strong ambition and early fan support, the group plans to grow quickly in both Korean and international markets.
