OpenAI officials visited Samsung Electronics’ semiconductor campus in South Korea as part of a growing technology partnership. The tour marked a new step in cooperation between the two companies. The South Korea chip plant played host to six members of OpenAI’s research and development team.
The group explored Samsung’s Pyeongtaek Campus, the company’s largest semiconductor site. Located about 70 kilometers from Seoul, the campus produces nearly half of Samsung’s dynamic random access memory wafers. The visit followed a letter of intent signed by Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
