Taipei Zoo Extends Summer Hours with Exciting New Activities

Date:

Taipei Zoo has announced an exciting update for visitors this summer. Every Saturday, the zoo will stay open until 9 p.m. These extended Taipei Zoo summer hours give guests more time to enjoy the park in cooler evening temperatures. In addition to longer hours, the zoo offers fresh activities designed to engage families and animal lovers. Visitors can purchase a special “Starlight Ticket” for just NT$60 (US$2) starting at 4:30 p.m. This ticket grants access during the extended hours, encouraging more people to experience the zoo at night.

One popular highlight during the extended Taipei Zoo summer hours is the “goose parade.” Normally held on Sundays, this event now also takes place on Saturday evenings. At dusk, geese follow their keepers along designated paths to the Animal Behavior Academy. This fun parade offers visitors an opportunity to learn about animal behavior in a relaxed setting.

To help guests stay cool, the zoo will operate its fountains and misting systems regularly throughout the visitor square. This splash area has always been a favorite among kids and families. This year, the zoo introduces a new “Rainfall Fun” zone near the zebra enclosure in the African Animal Area. It simulates refreshing African rain showers. Visitors are encouraged to bring extra clothes to enjoy this feature fully.

For the first time, visitors can explore the Desert and Australian Animal Area at night. This unique experience allows families to have a picnic under the stars while observing the animals in their habitats. This summer, the zoo highlights animals linked to aquatic environments. These include the hippopotamus, crocodiles, Eurasian otters, Malayan tigers, African penguins, Asian elephants, and orangutans. On Saturdays, keepers will give talks about how these animals stay cool in the summer, their care, and conservation efforts.

Additionally, Taipei Zoo offers an “Animal Photo Booth” activity. Visitors who donate three printed receipts from zoo concession stands receive one free photo session. The booth features animals and the zoo’s e-invoice bear mascot. Visitors should note that the last entry is at 8 p.m. Some areas, like the Giant Panda House, will close earlier at 6 p.m. to ensure the animals’ well-being. For the latest updates, check the zoo’s official website. With these changes, the Taipei Zoo summer hours provide a refreshing way to enjoy the park during the warm months.
