Taiwan 6G Showcase Highlights AI and Satellite Innovations

Date:

Taiwan 6G showcase will feature artificial intelligence and satellite communications technologies at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Consequently, the event underscores Taiwan’s growing presence in global advanced communications. The trade show opens March 2 and attracts leading tech companies and telecom operators worldwide.

Thirteen Taiwanese entities will exhibit under a government-organized Taiwan Pavilion, while another 25 firms will participate independently. Past editions of the event generated significant orders for Taiwanese suppliers. This year’s presentations aim to reinforce Taiwan’s role in next-generation networking.

Officials from Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs said most potential orders will likely come from system integrators and telecom operators in Europe and the United States. Furthermore, this edition emphasizes AI-driven connectivity, enterprise AI applications, and smart infrastructure, creating opportunities for Taiwanese manufacturers.

Exhibits will highlight AI applications, including servers, industrial computers, 1.6-terabit high-speed transmission solutions, end-to-end communications equipment, data centers, cybersecurity tools, and software platforms. These innovations demonstrate Taiwan’s technological capabilities and readiness for global deployment.

Independent participants include MediaTek, Quanta Cloud Technology, Pegatron, and Senao Networks. The Taiwan Pavilion features Micro-Star International, Auden Techno, Chunghwa Telecom, and the Industrial Technology Research Institute. Together, they present a broad spectrum of Taiwan’s industrial and research expertise.

Chunghwa Telecom plans to host representatives from Verizon and Japan’s Rakuten. The three parties will advance cooperation on Open RAN for 5G and 6G, as well as future communications ecosystems. In addition, Chunghwa Telecom will organize business matchmaking sessions to help Taiwanese companies secure overseas contracts.

ITRI will present next-generation 6G technologies, intelligent network management systems, and non-terrestrial satellite networks. These demonstrations aim to showcase Taiwan’s research and development strengths in advanced communications technologies.

Global companies such as Amazon Web Services, AMD, Dell, Meta, Google, and Nokia will attend, alongside telecom operators including AT&T, Vodafone, SK Telecom, and Alibaba Cloud. Their presence underscores the international relevance of Taiwan’s technologies.

Satellite communications will also take center stage. SpaceX executives, including Gwynne Shotwell and Michael Nicolls, along with Eutelsat CEO Jean-Francois Fallacher, are scheduled to attend. Their participation emphasizes satellites’ expanding role in next-generation networks.

Officials noted that satellite and radio-frequency chips are becoming increasingly critical. They support ground communication equipment and enable seamless connections between Earth and satellites. Consequently, Taiwanese firms may see rising opportunities in the global satellite supply chain.

Looking ahead, Taiwan 6G showcase is expected to strengthen collaboration, secure new contracts, and enhance Taiwan’s position in global network innovation. This event highlights the country’s commitment to next-generation AI and satellite technologies, positioning Taiwanese companies for long-term growth in international markets.
