Taiwan Boosts Green Energy in Fiji’s Villages

Date:

Taiwan supports green energy by taking action in the Pacific region. Recently, Taiwan donated a solar energy system to Naviavia Village in Fiji. The village, located in Cakaudrove Province, now benefits from this renewable energy project. Joseph Chow, Taiwan’s envoy to Fiji, delivered the system. He handed it over to Moape Rokosuka, a senior official in Fiji’s Office of the Prime Minister. The donation marks another step in Taiwan’s mission to strengthen regional ties through clean energy initiatives.

Although Fiji does not officially recognize Taiwan diplomatically, the gesture was warmly welcomed. Fijian leaders expressed appreciation for Taiwan’s goodwill and continuous support. The donation strengthens the relationship between the two island nations, despite the lack of formal diplomatic links. The solar energy system serves around 350 residents in the rural village. More importantly, Saint Paul Elementary School in the community gains stable and clean electricity. This marks a big improvement for students and teachers who previously lacked reliable power.

Taiwan supports green energy not just for its own benefit, but also for its Pacific neighbors. Joseph Chow emphasized that both Taiwan and Fiji share the same ocean region. He called it the “blue Pacific continent.” According to Chow, both nations face threats from climate change and energy insecurity. Therefore, they must work together for a better future. The new solar system reflects that commitment. It shows Taiwan’s intention to be a proactive and responsible regional partner.

Moreover, Taiwan’s green efforts in Fiji highlight its broader goals. The nation wants to lead by example in the Pacific. It aims to spread clean energy and reduce fossil fuel dependence in vulnerable areas. In conclusion, Taiwan supports green energy through real action. Its latest donation proves its long-term vision for the Pacific. With more efforts like this, both Taiwan and Fiji can build a cleaner, brighter tomorrow.
