Taiwan Issues Heavy Rain Warning

Date:

Taiwan faces a heavy rain warning as a seasonal weather system moves across the island. The Central Weather Administration (CWA) has issued an alert for dangerous weather in both western and northeastern regions. A plum rain front currently affects the island and brings brief but intense downpours to western Taiwan. Along with the rain, residents should expect thunderstorms and strong, sudden winds.

Northeastern Taiwan should also prepare for heavy rain and possible thunder. The heavy rain warning is especially important for low-lying areas, where flash flooding can occur during intense storms. While this unstable weather continues, forecasters predict that rain will ease later in the week. However, southern Taiwan may still get isolated morning showers. Scattered afternoon rainfall could affect many other areas as well.

Temperatures remain warm across the country. In the north, they range from the low to upper 20s. Central and southern regions are slightly warmer, with highs around 33°C. The east stays cooler, with temperatures hovering between 22°C and 28°C. Later in the week, temperatures are expected to climb. The north may reach up to 32°C. Central and southern areas remain steady in the low 30s. Meanwhile, eastern Taiwan warms slightly, reaching 30°C at most.

In addition to rain, high UV levels pose another concern. The ultraviolet index reaches extreme levels in parts of the southeast and offshore islands. Other regions experience moderate to high UV exposure. Residents should take sun protection seriously, especially during peak hours. Air quality offers some relief. Northern Taiwan and the offshore islands report moderate air quality. Central, southern, and eastern areas enjoy good air conditions, with minimal pollution.

Taiwan’s heavy rain warning urges people to stay alert and take action. Thunderstorms, gusty winds, and extreme UV levels can create dangerous conditions. Everyone should monitor weather updates and prepare for sudden changes.Stay safe by limiting time outdoors and avoiding risky travel. The heavy rain warning serves as a clear signal to remain cautious during this period of unstable weather.
