T.O.P Solo Comeback Rumors Grow

Date:

T.O.P solo comeback speculation has grown as the former Big Bang member is reportedly exploring new agency partnerships. According to an industry insider on Wednesday, he is in talks with entertainment giant CJ ENM regarding an exclusive contract.

Although CJ ENM has denied the claims, the insider explained that discussions included plans for a new album in late 2025. The rapper is currently unsigned and managing his solo activities independently.

The anonymous source said T.O.P is considering several global distributors for his solo deal, including CJ ENM. The parties involved have not yet identified which CJ ENM subsidiary would handle the agreement.

CJ ENM oversees several entertainment labels, including WakeOne and Stone Music, and also operates Lapone Entertainment in partnership with Japan’s Yoshimoto Kogyo. These labels have experience managing Korean and Japanese idol talent.

However, when contacted, a CJ ENM representative refuted the report. “There have been no discussions about an exclusive contract or musical comeback with T.O.P,” they said.

T.O.P parted ways with YG Entertainment in February 2022 after his exclusive contract ended. A year later, he formally exited Big Bang, closing a chapter on one of K-pop’s most iconic groups.

Since then, he has focused on solo efforts, particularly in acting. He made headlines with his return in Netflix’s “Squid Game” Season 2, portraying a character named Thanos.

This role marked his first major appearance since his legal controversy in 2017. At that time, he received a suspended sentence for marijuana use, which led to a lengthy hiatus.

In a January interview, he apologized for the incident and hinted at new music. “I have written many songs,” he said. “There’s no set release yet, but I plan to release something soon.”

His last solo track, “Doom Dada,” came out in November 2013. That long gap has only heightened fans’ anticipation.

Meanwhile, Big Bang’s 20th debut anniversary approaches in 2026. Despite their past success, T.O.P’s new direction suggests a firm break from group activities.

As more developments unfold, all eyes remain on the T.O.P solo journey and whether it will lead to an official return to music.
