Date:

Ulaanbaatar hosted a special reception on October 29, 2025, celebrating the 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye. Moreover, the event highlighted Turkey Mongolia ties and reinforced the historic partnership between the two nations.

The ceremony began with a reading of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s congratulatory message, emphasizing Türkiye’s commitment to fostering global partnerships. In addition, Ambassador Başak Genç Yüksel, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Türkiye to Mongolia, underscored centuries-long relations, noting that Turkey Mongolia ties serve as a foundation for modern cooperation.

She highlighted that President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa visited Türkiye in January 2025, a milestone visit that resulted in the signing of 11 official documents. Among them, the Declaration of Strategic Partnership marked a turning point in bilateral relations. Furthermore, Ambassador Yüksel noted that high-level exchanges continue to increase, strengthening Turkey Mongolia ties in all sectors.

Bilateral trade has grown significantly over the past decade, quadrupling to exceed USD 130 million in 2024. Additionally, Ambassador Yüksel emphasized that both nations aim to further elevate trade to fully reflect mutual potential. She added that cooperation in education, culture, history, and archaeology continues to advance, reinforcing the countries’ strategic relationship.

Minister of Defence Batlut Damba and other Mongolian officials attended the reception, highlighting the diplomatic significance of the celebration. Their presence also underscored the importance of Turkey Mongolia ties for defense, governance, and regional collaboration.

The ambassador concluded with a vision for the future: “May the friendship, cooperation, and solidarity between Türkiye and Mongolia flourish.” Moreover, she reaffirmed ongoing efforts to expand relations across economic, cultural, and strategic domains.

Experts note that Turkey Mongolia ties reflect a broader trend of enhanced diplomacy between Central Asia and key Eurasian partners. Therefore, analysts believe the recent agreements and trade growth signal a commitment to long-term collaboration and regional stability.

Looking forward, both governments plan to strengthen economic initiatives, encourage investment, and increase cultural exchanges. Consequently, strategic projects in trade, education, and archaeology are expected to expand, demonstrating that Turkey Mongolia ties are set to grow even stronger in the coming years.
