Ulaanbaatar Development Projects Boost Czech Cooperation

Date:

Ulaanbaatar development projects are attracting international attention as Mongolia and the Czech Republic expand cooperation to modernize the capital. The initiatives aim to ease traffic, cut air pollution, and improve urban living conditions.

In Ulaanbaatar, Chief Architect Tugsdelger Chinbat met with Radek Jakubsky, Vice President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce. The meeting focused on possible cooperation within the city’s 24 large-scale development projects.

The Ulaanbaatar development projects include major infrastructure plans such as metro and tram systems. These projects seek to strengthen public transport and promote sustainable city growth. Moreover, officials emphasized the need for foreign expertise and innovation.

Radek Jakubsky praised Mongolia’s modernization drive. He said the Czech Republic values the progress and feasibility of these projects. Furthermore, he expressed readiness to collaborate on initiatives with strong social and economic benefits.

Aleš Krtička, founder and Chief Operating Officer of the Czech architecture firm Atelier Tsunami, joined the discussions. He shared his company’s 33 years of experience in global construction and design. Additionally, his insights focused on how Czech design approaches could fit Ulaanbaatar’s unique needs.

Tugsdelger Chinbat said the Ulaanbaatar development projects require both investment and knowledge-sharing. Therefore, he invited Czech specialists to help plan and design new transport systems that align with international standards.

Economic ties between Mongolia and the Czech Republic have grown steadily. Since 1993, Czech companies and joint ventures have invested about USD 25.1 million in Mongolia. Consequently, this collaboration now spans construction, energy, and technology sectors.

Experts believe Czech participation in the Ulaanbaatar development projects could speed up completion and ensure high-quality outcomes. They also noted that the partnership supports Mongolia’s broader goal of promoting sustainable urban development.

Both sides plan to continue detailed discussions on project funding, technical support, and design implementation. Ultimately, the cooperation reflects a shared vision of turning Ulaanbaatar into a modern, eco-friendly, and globally connected city.
