XngHan Solo Debut Signals New Beginning for Former Riize Star

Date:

Former Riize member XngHan is preparing to make his solo debut in late July. SM Entertainment announced the news on Thursday, revealing his new stage name, XngHan. This stylized name uses an “X” to represent infinite potential and crossing boundaries. The company explained that XngHan aims to challenge stereotypes and push artistic limits. This upcoming solo debut marks a fresh start for the singer, nearly nine months after leaving Riize.

XngHan initially debuted with Riize in September 2023, but controversy quickly affected his career. Private photos leaked online just before the group’s debut, showing him in compromising situations. Additional criticism arose from a controversial Instagram Live conversation with TXT’s Soobin. Following the backlash, he halted all activities and eventually departed from the group. Despite this, Riize has continued as a six-member group, releasing successful songs such as “Love 119” and “Boom Boom Bass.”

Initially, SM Entertainment planned for XngHan to return to Riize in October 2024. However, the decision was reversed within days after fans reacted negatively on social media. The company confirmed his permanent exit from the group later that month. At the time, XngHan released a handwritten letter apologizing to fans and bandmates. He expressed deep regret and emphasized his love for Riize, wishing them continued success.

In his upcoming solo debut, XngHan seeks to reshape his image and artistic identity. SM Entertainment stated that he plans to collaborate with creatives who share his evolving vision. The company also emphasized the ambition behind the new stage name and his commitment to innovation. Fans can expect performances that break conventions and explore fresh styles. This marks a significant turning point for XngHan, as he attempts to rebuild his career.

International fans of XngHan have voiced support despite domestic criticism. Some have argued that he faced unfair treatment and lacked protection from his agency. They highlight the absence of public defense during the controversy. These supporters remain hopeful for his solo debut and future success. Ultimately, the XngHan solo debut symbolizes both a new chapter and a test of resilience for the artist.
