Military Parade Marks 80th Anniversary in Beijing

Date:

Beijing is preparing for a grand military parade to honor the 80th anniversary of victory in the War of Resistance. Moreover, this major commemoration also marks the end of the World Anti-Fascist War. The ceremony on September 3 will take place at Tiananmen Square and along Chang’an Avenue.

To begin with, organizers scheduled a 70-minute military parade as the centerpiece of the event. Officials also emphasized its political and historical importance. Furthermore, the celebration will include both a military review and a large march-past.

During the review, troops will line up across Chang’an Avenue. At the same time, President Xi Jinping will personally inspect their formations. Afterward, the march-past will bring airborne echelons, foot units, armament groups, and aerial forces across Tiananmen Square. In total, 45 formations and echelons will participate in the event.

First, helicopters leading the airborne flag escort will open the parade. Crews will also display banners and symbolic characters in the sky. As a result, this spectacle highlights both the nation’s prosperity and its advancing armed forces. In addition, it underscores the spirit of justice and peace.

Meanwhile, the foot formations will present a story of continuity. On one hand, veteran units rooted in wartime armies will represent tradition. On the other hand, modern troops organized in the “three-in-one” system will represent today’s military. Together, they clearly illustrate how history and progress meet in the present.

Next, battle flag formations will carry banners chosen from key periods and regions. These flags also reflect the enduring legacy of the War of Resistance. In fact, carriers will come from units tied to each flag’s history, symbolizing unity and determination.

Afterward, armament groups will roll forward. They include forces specializing in ground combat, maritime defense, air and missile operations, and logistics. At the same time, new equipment will demonstrate modern capabilities. Notably, several advanced assets will appear publicly for the first time.

Finally, aerial echelons will close the military parade. Command aircraft, fighters, bombers, and transport planes will soar above the square. Indeed, nearly every active combat aircraft of the People’s Liberation Army will be on display.

Additionally, music will also play a central role. More than 1,000 musicians will form the largest joint military band in national parade history. The ensemble will both perform wartime classics and newly composed works. Therefore, songs will honor sacrifice and reflect the vigor of a modern army.

In conclusion, this anniversary event promises not only a powerful display of strength but also a solemn remembrance of history. Ultimately, Beijing’s military parade will blend past and present in a message of resilience and progress.
