Mongolian Cadet Judokas Shine at Asian Championships

Mongolian cadet judokas delivered impressive performances at the Asian Cadets and Junior Judo Championships in Jakarta. Seventeen athletes competed against 196 judokas from 21 countries under the guidance of coaches G. Bat-Erdene and E. Namuuntsetseg.

On the first day, the Mongolian team secured two bronze medals. In the boys’ 60 kg division, Enkhtur Jamiyan started with a victory against Kyrgyzstan. He then lost to Kazakhstan in the quarterfinals. Refusing to give up, Jamiyan fought back in the repechage round, defeating opponents from Taiwan and Iran to claim the bronze medal.

Naranzun Enkhbat also made a strong impression in the boys’ 66 kg division. He opened with a win against India but later fell to Kazakhstan. Enkhbat advanced through the repechage bracket, overcoming judokas from Indonesia and Kuwait to earn his bronze medal. His determination and technique impressed both fans and fellow competitors.

Beyond these medal wins, four other Mongolian athletes progressed to the semifinals. Otgonnyam Tumenjargal reached the girls’ 57 kg semifinals, while Anudari Enkhtaivan advanced in the girls’ 63 kg division. In the boys’ 81 kg category, Mungundal Batjargal earned a semifinal spot, and Mungunbagana Galsandamba advanced in the boys’ +90 kg division. Their strong performances highlight Mongolia’s depth in the cadet judo program.

Additionally, four more athletes are preparing for the repechage rounds, aiming for another chance at bronze medals. Their focus, preparation, and tactical skills show the high level of competition within the team.

The championship will continue with junior competitions over the next two days. Mongolian cadet judokas remain determined to earn more medals, showcasing skill, strategy, and resilience. Fans are following closely, anticipating more exciting matches as the tournament progresses.

With two bronze medals already in hand and multiple athletes in semifinals, Mongolia has started the championships strongly. The team’s combination of discipline, teamwork, and technical expertise ensures they remain top contenders in each weight category. Their performances so far demonstrate that Mongolian cadet judokas are a force to watch at this tournament.
