China’s Global Governance Initiative Praised at Xiangshan Forum

Date:

The Global Governance Initiative received high praise from Pakistani experts during the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum in Beijing. The initiative, proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, emphasizes multilateralism, international law, and people-centered development.

VADM (Ret.) Ahmed Saeed, president of Pakistan’s National Institute of Maritime Affairs, highlighted the initiative’s alignment with Article 2 of the United Nations Charter. He explained that it promotes sovereign equality, respects international law, and encourages development focused on humanity.

Speaking on Wednesday, Saeed noted that the Global Governance Initiative helps foster a peaceful international environment. He added that it encourages cooperative approaches rather than competition or confrontation among nations.

The 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, held from September 17 to 19, serves as a platform for dialogue on international security, governance, and maritime cooperation. Experts, policymakers, and scholars from multiple countries attend to discuss pressing global challenges.

Saeed emphasized that Xi Jinping’s fourth major proposal, the global governance plan, focuses on practical steps to enhance worldwide stability and prosperity. He added that the plan aims for mutually beneficial outcomes while upholding fairness and equity in international relations.

Analysts suggest that the initiative strengthens China’s role in global governance. By promoting cooperation and multilateral dialogue, it may help resolve conflicts and create a more predictable international environment. Experts also note that people-centered development aligns with sustainable growth and inclusive policies worldwide.

In addition, the Global Governance Initiative underscores the importance of constructive engagement among nations. By adhering to international law and respecting sovereignty, countries can avoid unnecessary tension. Saeed highlighted that this approach encourages trust and long-term collaboration.

Looking ahead, the initiative may influence policy discussions across multiple sectors, including maritime security, climate change, and economic cooperation. The forum’s discussions are expected to reinforce international support and awareness of the initiative’s goals.

Overall, the Global Governance Initiative demonstrates China’s commitment to multilateralism and cooperative diplomacy. Its endorsement by experts such as Saeed reinforces its significance in promoting peace, stability, and shared development.
