Thai Tourism Expands in Central Taiwan

Date:

Central Taiwan is actively promoting Thai tourism to boost international arrivals. Consequently, the region seeks to attract more Thai travelers.

Taichung City, along with Nantou and Changhua counties, collaborated with STARLUX Airlines to host 25 leading Thai travel agencies. During their visit, the agencies explored natural landscapes in Nantou and cultural sites in Changhua.

Chen Mei-hsiu, director of Taichung’s Tourism and Travel Bureau, emphasized the agencies’ positive impressions. She noted that Thai tourism shows great potential due to the area’s diverse attractions. Furthermore, the visitors praised the region’s natural scenery and rich cultural heritage.

Central Taiwan has been encouraging more international flight routes. By doing so, officials hope to make the region more accessible to foreign travelers. In addition, Chen highlighted that Thai visitor arrivals have steadily grown since the pandemic. Therefore, Thailand remains a key market for Taiwan’s tourism sector.

The initiative also strengthens partnerships between local governments and airlines. STARLUX Airlines played a pivotal role in hosting the agencies and facilitating travel across the region. Moreover, this collaboration aims to showcase central Taiwan as a must-visit destination for international tourists.

Officials believe that boosting Thai tourism benefits local economies. For instance, hotels, restaurants, and cultural sites gain from increased visitor spending. In addition, central Taiwan can highlight its unique attractions, from scenic mountains to historical landmarks.

Tourism experts note that the Thai market remains attractive due to strong travel demand and cultural connections. As a result, focusing on Thai tourism helps central Taiwan maintain consistent growth in international arrivals.

Looking ahead, central Taiwan plans to host similar programs for other key markets. Officials aim to expand promotional campaigns, attract new flight routes, and enhance visitor experiences. Therefore, these efforts underline the region’s strategy to diversify and strengthen its tourism industry.

Overall, central Taiwan’s focus on Thai tourism demonstrates a proactive approach to global tourism. By leveraging natural beauty and cultural heritage, the region positions itself as a competitive international destination.
