Lin Yun-ju Faces Tough Loss in WTT Champions Semi-finals

Taiwan’s Lin Yun-ju suffered a tough loss to South Korea’s Lee Sang-su in the men’s singles semi-finals at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Champions Incheon on April 6, 2025.

Lin, ranked world No. 14, faced Lee, who is ranked No. 45, in a match that tested Lin’s resilience. The match took place in front of Lee’s home crowd in Incheon, South Korea.

The first game started evenly, with both players locked at 4-4. Lin then surged ahead to win the game 11-5. However, Lee responded quickly in the second game, leveling the score with an 11-5 win of his own.

Lee’s momentum continued to build as the match went on. In the fourth game, he established a dominant 4-0 lead and went on to crush Lin 11-2, taking control of the match.

Despite facing defeat, Lin managed to mount a comeback. He won the fifth game 11-8, briefly keeping his hopes alive. However, Lee closed the match with a narrow 11-9 victory in the sixth game, securing a 4-2 win.

Lin Yun-ju had previously defeated Japan’s Sora Matsushima 4-1 to reach the semi-finals. Despite the setback, Lin showed his determination and skill throughout the tournament.

This loss marks a significant challenge for Lin as he looks to continue improving and preparing for upcoming competitions. Fans are eager to see how Lin will rebound from this experience.
