Jeju Export Momentum Drives First Meat Deal With Singapore

Jeju export momentum grew significantly this week as Jeju secured its first meat export deal with Singapore. The agreement marked an important milestone for Jeju producers aiming to expand into Southeast Asia.

During the “2025 Invitation to Jeju, Korea” event in Singapore, the Jeju Provincial Government announced the contract. Furthermore, the three-day program connected Jeju businesses with regional buyers and steadily strengthened Jeju export momentum through targeted promotional efforts.

Nineteen Jeju companies joined the event and completed 46 structured meetings with buyers from three nations. Additionally, the program generated more than 190 export consultations and helped firms secure multiple commitments that deepened commercial cooperation.

Daehan F&B advanced the strongest achievement by signing a 3 billion won contract with Culina. The agreement calls for annual shipments of 200 processed cattle and 52 metric tons of pork. Consequently, officials said the deal reflected growing trust in Jeju’s food quality and boosted local confidence.

Meanwhile, organizers operated a pop-up store showcasing Jeju consumer goods. The display featured tangerine foods, beauty products, and wellness items that attracted steady foot traffic throughout the event. As a result, Jeju brands gained wider recognition among Singaporean consumers.

Earlier this month, President Lee Jae Myung reached a market-opening agreement with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. Therefore, Jeju producers received a strategic opportunity to enter Singapore’s meat market and accelerate Jeju export momentum with new distribution channels.

A provincial official said the Singapore event offered valuable support for Jeju firms expanding overseas. Moreover, the official emphasized that the program helped startups build early partnerships necessary for long-term growth.

Later this year, Jeju plans to organize additional trade missions and extend assistance to companies targeting Southeast Asia. Ultimately, officials expect stronger regional cooperation to diversify export markets and create sustainable opportunities for Jeju’s food producers.
