Tainan Holiday Events Announced

Date:

Tainan Holiday Events will kick off later this month, offering concerts and family activities for residents and visitors. The announcement highlights the city’s efforts to promote community engagement and festive celebrations.

Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che revealed the program during a press conference on November 19, 2025. The events will run for six consecutive weeks starting November 29 and continue through New Year’s Eve. Mayor Huang emphasized that the celebrations have grown into a well-known local brand over the years.

The city plans to host three large concerts alongside three parent-child events. Despite not having the largest budget in Taiwan, the shows have become increasingly varied and attract large crowds. Huang invited citizens to join the year-end countdown at Yonghua Civic Center after work.

Parent-child events will take place at Southern Taiwan Science Park, Jiali Sports Park, and TS Mall Shidai Park. Theater groups, including Bean Theatre, Apple Theater, and If Kids Theatre, will perform shows and organize simple games to entertain families. These activities aim to encourage family participation and community bonding during the holiday season.

In addition, Mayor Huang warned residents about potential online scams targeting the events. Fake job recruitment ads using last year’s posters have appeared online. He stressed that any message asking users to add a Line account or verify payments to buy concert tickets is fraudulent and should be reported.

The city reinforced that official information will only appear on government websites and verified official social media pages. Officials noted that ongoing anti-fraud campaigns aim to protect the public and prevent citizens from falling victim to fake posts.

Observers said Tainan Holiday Events not only provide entertainment but also strengthen local identity and encourage civic participation. Experts highlight that such community-focused programs boost tourism, support local businesses, and increase family engagement.

Looking ahead, Tainan officials plan to continue expanding the events each year. They hope to introduce additional activities, collaborate with more local performers, and enhance safety and accessibility measures for all participants.

Ultimately, Tainan Holiday Events represent a significant cultural and social initiative. By combining concerts, family programs, and public safety measures, the city aims to ensure residents enjoy a safe, festive, and engaging holiday season.
