Illit Japan Breakthrough Wins Major Music Award

Date:

South Korean girl group Illit Japan Breakthrough won the Excellent Work Award at the Japan Record Awards. The recognition highlights their first Japanese-language single, “Almond Chocolate,” and confirms their growing influence in Japan.

Belift Lab, the group’s agency, announced the win on Friday, emphasizing Illit’s rising international popularity. Each year, the award recognizes ten top songs. Consequently, winning songs automatically become candidates for the grand prize, scheduled for December 30. Notably, Illit remains the only non-Japanese group among the winners.

Although Illit has not officially debuted in Japan, the group earned the rookie artist award last year. Their debut single “Magnetic” achieved massive success, which expanded the group’s fanbase internationally. Experts note that receiving consecutive awards demonstrates consistent quality and growing recognition.

Illit members expressed gratitude for the honor and confirmed they will continue producing music that resonates globally. They also pledged to expand their reach to Japanese audiences through performances and fan events.

Moreover, the group plans to release their first single album, “Not Cute Anymore,” on Monday. Analysts expect the new album to strengthen Illit’s position in both Korean and Japanese markets.

Belift Lab praised the dedication of the artists and production team, while highlighting plans to support promotional activities in Japan. These include live performances, media appearances, and fan interactions designed to increase visibility.

In addition, industry commentators emphasize that this recognition can catalyze collaborations with Japanese producers and open new commercial opportunities. Therefore, Illit Japan Breakthrough’s award may accelerate long-term growth in the region.

Overall, Illit Japan Breakthrough’s consecutive wins demonstrate the girl group’s increasing international relevance. Furthermore, their success reinforces the global expansion strategy of K-pop groups across Asia.
