Bluerider ART, a contemporary art gallery founded in Taipei in 2013, continues bridging East and West through strategic global expansion. This month, the gallery officially opened its newest space in Los Angeles while also unveiling plans for a major upgrade in Taipei.
Founder Elsa Wang, a Taiwanese entrepreneur with a passion for cross-cultural dialogue, launched the gallery with a mission to connect Eastern and Western art. Over the past decade, Bluerider ART has built a strong presence in cities like London and Shanghai.
Now, with the opening of its 15,000-square-foot location in Los Angeles’ Manhattan Beach district, the gallery deepens its commitment to bridging East and West. The Los Angeles branch adds a North American hub to its international footprint across Asia and Europe.
Bluerider ART stands out as the first contemporary gallery of Chinese origin to operate on three continents. This expansion highlights its dedication to fostering cultural exchange and supporting artists worldwide.
Rather than relying on temporary shows, Bluerider ART focuses on long-term, self-operated gallery spaces. This approach creates deeper community ties and supports sustainable artistic growth.
The gallery centers its mission around curating top-tier exhibitions and offering expert guidance for collectors. It also provides strong representation for its affiliated artists from both Eastern and Western backgrounds.
Bluerider ART draws inspiration from the early 20th-century Der Blaue Reiter group. This influence reflects the gallery’s commitment to spiritual and expressive dimensions of modern art.
In addition to expanding westward, Bluerider ART is consolidating and upgrading its Taipei galleries. The new flagship space on Dunhua North Road opens on June 5. This move symbolizes a shift from Taipei’s alleyway culture to an international presence aimed at bridging East and West.
The upgraded Taipei location will debut with a landmark show, “Rising in Fire: Hantoo Art Group.” The exhibition honors a key collective in Taiwan’s art history and includes over 50 works from 13 members.
After its opening in Taipei, the exhibit will travel to London in October. With these new steps, Bluerider ART continues bridging East and West while enriching the global art scene.
