Date:

China held a major gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday to mark the CPC anniversary. The ceremony celebrated 105 years since the Communist Party of China’s founding in 1921. Furthermore, President Xi Jinping presided over the event in his capacity as CPC Central Committee General Secretary. Consequently, the occasion brought together top national leadership alongside award recipients from across the country.

Xi conferred the July 1 Medal, the Party’s highest individual honor, on outstanding model CPC members. Additionally, he and other senior leaders presented awards to exemplary Party workers and primary-level Party organizations. These recipients represented communities and institutions from provinces and regions across the entire country. The award ceremony formed a central and symbolic component of the broader CPC anniversary celebration program.

Addressing the gathering, Xi delivered a keynote speech reflecting on the Party’s 105-year historical journey. He described the CPC as having led the Chinese people in writing a magnificent epic throughout millennia of national history. Furthermore, he credited the Party’s unremitting efforts with fundamentally transforming the future of the Chinese people over that period. Xi also stated these endeavors opened the correct path toward achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Xi additionally argued that 105 years of CPC leadership demonstrated the enduring vitality of Marxism as a governing ideology. Moreover, he said the Party’s historical trajectory produced a profound influence on the broader course of world history. These remarks positioned the CPC not merely as a national political force but as a globally significant ideological actor. The speech reflected Xi’s consistent framing of Party history as inseparable from China’s rise as a world power.

The CPC anniversary celebration carries both domestic and international significance given China’s current global standing. Going forward, analysts expect the anniversary to reinforce internal Party cohesion ahead of continued major policy initiatives. Furthermore, Xi’s emphasis on national rejuvenation signals the leadership’s intention to accelerate strategic goals throughout the remainder of this decade.
